The day before the Journalists’ Day, TAS Insurance Group congratulated winners of the journalistic stories contest devoted to the topic «Social Significance of Insurance in Ukraine». The contest had been organized for journalists of central and regional publishers by TAS IG.

The contest lasted over the course of the year 2008. Over 20 articles were submitted to participate there, and another 20 stories were selected by the contest committee from among daily monitorings of media.

Twelve journalists became finalists, and winners were selected among them. Regina Datsiuk, a financial news observer of the Economicheskie Izvestiya newspaper ranked first. The second prize was bestowed to Pavlina Semivolos, a Tourism section editor of the international public and political Zerkalo Nedeli weekly newspaper. The third prize was granted to Lana Borisova, a journalist of the all-Ukrainian business magazine Nashe Kredo (the city of Lviv). All of them were awarded with notebooks.

Another five journalists were bestowed with recognition gifts, in particular, certificates allowing for a 10-percent discount when concluding a voluntary motor casko insurance contract or a property insurance contract with TAS Insurance Group (to be selected by the awardees). The five journalists were as follows: Yuri Gusev (Bizness newspaper), Pavlo Kharlamov (Dengi.ua newspaper), Tetiana Pavliuchenko (Delo newspaper), Serhiy Zakharyn (Ukrainska Turystycha Gazeta), and Lidiya Shevchenko (Interfax-Ukraine Informational Agency).

The following persons were among the finalists: Anna Nagrebelna (Prostir Strakhuvannia newspaper), Roman Kosma (Krok newspaper, Lviv), Elena Gopaniuk (Prysamarska Nyva, Novomoskovsk), and Serhiy Kapustyn (Byrzha newspaper, Kryvyi Rih).

The winners were congratulated by Chairman of the Board TAS Insurance Group Dmytro Grytsuta. He said: «We respect a journalist’s work, and we understand they are able to disclose a great world of the civilized insurance to all Ukrainians. We organized and held this contest for print media to cover ever more interesting and topical information about the national insurance market, and for our readers to have a chance of being aware of usefulness and necessity of the insurance institute».

Dmytro Grytsuta greeted the contest winners and all Ukrainian journalists with their professional holiday. He wished them health, happiness, welfare and endless inspiration.

As we reported earlier, TAS IG contest of journalist’s stories was open for all Ukrainian journalists who covered issues about insurance and highlighted advantages and necessity of its different types: voluntary medical insurance, travel and personal insurance, property insurance, third party liability insurance, cargo insurance, motor casko insurance, agricultural risks insurance, etc.
