TAS Insurance Group (TAS IG) paid for losses 2,185,000 hryvnias to its clients last week (7-11 Sept 2009).

The largest amount of indemnity was 470 thousand hryvnias within the specified period. It was paid out upon the insured’s death under an accident insurance contract concluded at Dnipropetrovsk Regional Branch of TAS IG. The indemnity was obtained by a bank that had granted a mortgage loan to the insured.

TAS IG indemnified the amount of the loan to the bank in full. The family of the person who died in a road accident has housing, though unfortunately it lost the breadwinner, Director of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Branch of TAS IG Olena Reshetnykova said.

Other large indemnities of TAS IG over the specified period – UAH33,000 – 90,000 – were made under motor casko insurance contracts and agricultural producer risk insurance contracts concluded at Cherkasy Regional Branch, Ivano-Frankivsk and Sumy Branches, and TAS IG Central Office.

In particular, TAS IG paid for losses almost 40 thousand hryvnias upon the winter wheat loss as a result of a plant disease. The indemnity was transferred to an Ivano-Frankivsk bank that had credited the insured (an agricultural company).
