Private joint-stock company TAS Insurance Group (TAS IG (private)) paid for lossess to its clients 3,853 thousand hryvnias for 12 days in January.

The largest amounts of indemnities were paid under motor casco insurance contracts concluded at Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk and Volyn regional branches, Kirovohrad and Rivne branches, and under a property insurance contract concluded at Crimean regional branch of TAS IG (private).

In particular, the company paid almost UAH 80,000 for repayment of a loan issued to buy a Nissan Primera that was later stolen. About 30% of the total value of the car had been already reimbursed before. The insurance contract was concluded at Cherkasy regional branch of TAS IG (private).

Mr. Volokha, Head of Cherkasy regional branch of TAS IG (private), said: “As a rule, our branch collects the largest amount of premiums, thus, it pays the most under motor casco insurance contracts. E.g., in 2009, we concluded over 34,200 MTPL insurance contracts and collected UAH 4.5 mln of premiums. We paid for losses to our clients under MTPL insurance contracts almost UAH 1.4 mln. Under motor casco insurance contracts about UAH 9 million of premiums were written and almost UAH 6.6 mln of losses under over 1000 insured events were paid. A high percentage of renewing motor casco insurance contracts being the most popular with the Ukrainians bespeaks the fact that our clients are happy to cooperate with TAS IG (private).”

Since the beginning of January 2010, other significant indemnities have been paid to individuals and legal entities for Mercedes Benz, Opel Astra, Isuzu NQR, Dacia Logan and BMW cars damaged in road accidents.
