On 24 September 2009, a round table conference Without Fear To Insurance devoted to topical problems of Ukrainian insurance market was held at a conference hall of Press Club (Ukrinform Informational Agency) in Lviv.

The main speakers were: Diana Savytska (Head of Lviv Territorial Department of State Commission for Securities and Stock Market of Ukraine), Myroslav Voityk (independent loss adjuster, representative of Motor (Transport) Bureau of Ukraine in Lviv), top managers of TAS IG Dmytro Grytsuta (Chairman of the Board) and Svitlana Kosarevych (Head of West Regional Branch).

Representatives of Lviv Oblast State Administration from departments for social policy, health care, printing production and entrepreneurship also participated in discussions.

The round table conference covered the following topics: general state and outlook for Ukrainian insurance market; capabilities and risks of insurance market in Ukraine; role and influence of state regulation for insurance market; importance of specialized insurance organizations; importance of insurance for social protection of people; a crisis of confidence in insurance companies and level of people’s knowledge in Ukrainian insurance market; reliability of insurance companies in the context of forming financial assets of an insurance company.

Chairman of the Board TAS IG Mr. Grytsuta underlined importance of insurance for social protection of people. He said: “At present most consumers of insurance services sees insurance as a forced procedure, not an informed choice. We are sure that the Insurance institution bears an important social function, a protective function, and should guarantee financial stability of people upon occurrence of unforeseen circumstances. That’s why, our objective is to dispel existing myths and prejudice about insurance by providing reliable and quality information about peculiar features of Ukrainian insurance market.”
